Privacy Policy

Password Generator Pro ("the app") is a password generator and password keeper for Android. This policy explains what information the app handles. The short version: none leaves your device. The app works entirely offline, has no internet permission, contains no advertising, analytics or other third-party software development kits, and has no server.

Information stored only on your device

The passwords you choose to save, together with the service name, login and note you attach to them, and the settings you change, are stored locally in the app's private storage. They are encrypted with a key that is protected by the PIN you create and by your device's secure hardware key store. The PIN itself is never stored. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, because the app cannot open a network connection.

The app opts out of Android's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so this data is never copied to a Google account. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Backup files

A backup file is created only when you ask for one from the Settings screen. It is encrypted with a password you choose, and it is written only to the location you pick in the system file dialog. The app never reads or writes any other file. What you do with the file afterwards (for example, copying it to cloud storage) is under your control and outside the app.

Clipboard

When you copy a password, it is placed on the device clipboard marked as sensitive, and the app clears it again after the time you choose in Settings. Other apps with clipboard access could read the clipboard during that time; that is a function of Android.

Information we do not collect

The app does not collect, store or share personal information of any kind. It has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no internet connection. It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, files outside the ones you explicitly pick, or any other sensitive permission.

Third parties

No third-party service receives data from the app. The app is distributed through Google Play, and Google's handling of your Google account and downloads is described in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Children

Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children either. It is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. As we hold none, there is nothing for us to provide or delete: everything the app knows is on your device and under your control. Deleting the app deletes its data. Security

Saved passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is wrapped with a key derived from your PIN and again with a hardware-backed key that never leaves your device, so the data cannot be read on another device or without the PIN. Repeated wrong PIN attempts trigger growing waits. The app blocks screenshots and screen recording of its screens and locks itself when you leave it. If the PIN is forgotten, the saved passwords cannot be recovered by anyone, including us; the only way back is to erase the app's data and restore a backup file.

Changes

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
